1. Your store should be clutter-free

Having too much clutter is sure to increase your bounce rate and discourage people from completing the purchase process.

If it takes a visitor more than 3 seconds to locate the CTA button, you need to review the website’s outlook and reduce the clutter. A store with an easily accessible CTA is likely to have more conversions.

2. Use simple menus

The purpose of menus is to help organize the website’s content. That’s the reason why they should be kept simple. Don’t complicate things by using multiple categories. 

For instance, instead of using menu categories such as: “rubber watches,” “leather watches,” or “metal watches,” simply use “men watches” or “women watches.” You can also simplify your menus by using generic terms instead of niche terms to categorize products.

5. Simplify your checkout process and offer a variety of payment methods

A complex checkout process can discourage people from purchasing from your store. Your checkout process should basically include the payment, delivery, and confirmation pages. Nothing more.

The longer the checkout process, the more likely visitors will exit the site without making any purchase. So, avoid including unnecessary details or steps in the checkout. 

Also, don’t limit your visitors to 1 or 2 payment options. People like having options, leverage on that. It’s wrong to assume everyone uses debit or credit cards to make payments. You should have at least four payment options. 

Your store can have options such as Debit/credit cards, cryptocurrency, Webmoney, Neteller, FasaPay, etc. This gives your visitors the freedom to pick the payment option they prefer. You can also have payment options such as Pay Before Delivery or Pay on Delivery if you are selling physical goods. 

6. Ensure your product descriptions are informative

Your descriptions should be brief and straightforward. Make sure to highlight all the main selling points while avoiding irrelevant details such as the manufacturing process. You can also use bullet points to make it easier to read. 

7. Use digital marketing to enhance your online presence

Take advantage of digital marketing channels such as SEO, SEM, email marketing and display advertising to increase awareness to your store. In turn, this will enhance the volume of traffic coming in.
